The solution to limit the waste of natural resources is to recycle more and better. Recycling more means recovering as many resources as possible from "post-consumer scrap", increasing the amount of recycled and recyclable. Recycled fraction" (FR) is the ratio between the weight of recycled (PR) and the total weight of recyclable (TW) plus the weight of the dispersed fraction (DF). Recycled fraction RF= RW/(TW+DF)= RW/[TW+(TP+L+E)]. The dispersed phase includes: recoverable unrecovered material from treatment plants (TP), material sent to landfills (L), material dispersed into the environment (E). Recycling better means collecting, subdividing and separating better, and working on the performance of treatment plants (T) to obtain products that are increasingly close to the raw material and from which high-quality raw materials can be obtained. Researches made by Sander, Schubert and Kirchner from Freiberg Technical University have developed a theory to define how to better separate and recover metal components from scrap originated by shredder waste, scrap collection and in particular from consumer goods. The "REDFINER" has been designed and realized after a careful analysis of such research with the aim of putting the material to be recycled in the best conditions to be separated and released. This means a particular attention to the separation/breack phase that must be such as to physically separate the components as a whole, so that they are not only separated but also free from each other. The "REDFINER" is a module that enhances, through comminution and selection, the scrap "poor" from the separate collection, WEEE, small household appliances, valves, crankcases, combustion engines from E.L.V., tins, cans, spray cans, electric motors, transformers, stators, window frames, packaging waste...
